Feb 10th 2009 - Vid Podpečan - Integration of web services into Orange: a step towards service-oriented data mining

In this presentation I will try to summarize my efforts on integrating web services into Orange. A short and very general introduction to SOAP web services will be given along with a general recipe how to build a service out of an existing C/C++/Python code using the ZSI package. I will explain how Orange widgets work and what needs to be fixed/changed in the Orange Canvas and workflow management in order to be fully compatible with web services.

Finally, my implementation of automatized integration of web services into Orange will be presented and demonstrated by executing a workflow of services.
