Triplet Extraction

Delia Rusu and Lorand Dali will each present the work they did for their diploma while interning at E8 for last three months.

Their work revolved around extraction of (subject,predicat, object) triplets from text. Lorand worked on learning to extract triplets and Delia worked on consolidating the triplets from one document and forming "semantic graphs" (check picture on the right for example).

Triplets can be used to solve tasks which cannot be solved using shallow techniques such as Bag-of-Words. Two application will be presented at the seminar: first is question answering system (http://vigred.ijs.si:8080/lorand/cgi/QACgi.exe) and the second is summarization.
